I believe that you are right that Orsini won't disappoint, but I will wait and see the results of the new coach's first couple of recruiting classes before I believe that we have brought in a winner. We have gone through too many coaches that have failed post DP for me to get overly excited. It might take 2 or 3 years to get to a winner and that might only happen if our model has changed, i.e. we offer a PE degree for potential recruits and start accepting more jucos to immediately build the program.

Also, my source indicates that the transition will be a smooth one. The Bennett's do not harbor a grudge and feel that SMU and Orsini have treated them fairly. This should be of great benefit to the new coach and further demonstrates the class act of PB.

Good to hear that Phil does not hold a grudge. The nerve of SMU firing him after giving him $3 million plus for all of those wins.

Darth will post later (at some point in time) about his feelings on PB (and they are actually good believe it or not)..In the mean time...It is Darth's understanding that both PB and JB do not harbor ill well (which shows a lot of class). Darth has heard from multiple people that PB's extension depended on a bowl game and/or seven wins, which means that the money was not guaranteed. Steve-O just might have put a few bucks in the pot to make this somewhat palatable to everyone. This is just Darth's speculation.
