Not that I like Neuheisel, but why would we have to wait until then for him? Isn't he on the coaching staff for like the Baltimore Ravens nowadays? There's no prohibition on contacting someone in the NFL, is there? Perhaps there is some sort of provision in Neuheisel's contract that would require him to notify his bosses before an interview, but I don't see why Orsini couldn't contact him.

I just don't think he's the right guy for the job. I never liked his personality or his "flair". Plus, his baggage is different than Bowden's...we could have the NCAA back on our butts again.

any Coach under Contract to perform in the future should not be contacted without permission from his employer. In the law its called tortious interference with contract.

Not necessarily. And, definitely not in Louisiana. There's no such thing.

Since the NCAA had to pay him $2.5 million in cash the last time they were on his butt, I am thinking he is pretty much bullet proof at this point.

I thought it was like $4 Million or so. Think of the h**d-*n the NCAA must have for that guy.
At any rate, I wouldn't get upset if he were the one we hired, I just think there are better fits out there.

The NCAA had to pay $2.5 Million, UW had to pay $500K and then did not seek repayment of a $1.5 million loan.

Yeah, I'm sure Ken could tell them stories about when he used to box Muhammad Ali.

I could have been a helluva recruiter at Miami in the late 80's. Unfortunately we already got smacked by the NCAA for that kind of recruiting.

if the new coach is named within ten days will Coach Phil and the new guy share an office for a few weeks?
