going on that assumption, Dwan, who do you think it is? Barnett? Not Barnett?

I think it's going to be Barnett. The lawyers have to go to Colo. and get the facts. They have to talk to the lady that was raped and the other allegations. If they can get this fixed they will hire Barnett. If thy can't then Bowden.

If Bowden is genuinely interested, I wouldn't waste a phone call to Barnett.

Either one, however, would be lightyears better than the guy folks down here are saying is interested:

John Mackovic.

Yes, THAT John Mackovic.

Don't know how interested, but I know a couple of folks who know him, and they swear the job has peaked his curiosity.

Barnett will be the next coach at SMU. Once this background thing is done, they will announce it.

Weird. In thinking about it, ut has had their last three coaches with a "Mack" reference. David McWilliams, John Mackovic, Mack Brown. Could Lance McIlhenney be next in line?

John Mackovic can be as interested as he wants. Doesn't mean I would return his calls.

In the interest of full and honest disclosure, I never really saw the movie.

Mackovic could not consistently win the SWC at Texas! Then he took a large dump at Arizona. Still, would rather have him than the OC at Missouri

The guy who wrote the article didn't give any real information other than they contacted Mizzou. Anything else is speculation.

I'm not talking about you. This is the type of stuff I'm talking about:

Barnett will be the next coach at SMU. Once this background thing is done, they will announce it.

When it comes to our friends saying this guy or that guy is going to be the next coach, keep in mind the words of the great Jim Mora:

"You think you know. But you just don't know. And you never will.''
