Stallion will soon come on here and tell us how many Jucos Centenary has, and I will not care. We should not be looking at 0-3 at this point, I don't care how many freshmen we got out there, I'm sorry. Something aint right folks (says Captain Obvious) Hope things get better.

put it in the books 93-76 Centenary. Doherty is going to have a major challenge getting these guys to keep playing hard and learning. Hope they are strong character guys and will be able to do that playing in front of a few friends and family members.
The faith of the 1500 was tested today

Doh was not happy with his lack of physical play in the first 2 games....hence the start by Ritter tonight.

They're playing in the newly formed "Summit League". Can you guess who is in that group?? You might recognize Oral Roberts, but try N. Dakota St, S. Dakota St., Oakland (MI), W. Illinois, S. Utah, UM-KC and of course, those Hoosier classics IUPUI & IPFW. Talk about a far flung group!
It's a renamed conference of the former Mid-Continent Conference. Has produced some decent basketball teams most notably Homer Drew's Valpo teams. The Mid-Con/Summit just happened to be a conference willing to take Centenary when they were rejected from the Southland Conference (Stephen F Austin, UTSA, SHSU, Lamar) because they didnt play football.

Down by 30 at home to Centenary has to at least be considered one of the top 5 most hideous sports moments in the SMU history of ever. Dunno, though... need to research about 200 other football and basketball games over the last 15 years to make sure. Will get back to you on this.

Ranks right up there to losing to Cougar High in the late 90s when Vegas wouldnt put a line on the game b/c UofH was "non-competitive"

UTSA doesnt have a football team. Neither do UT-Arlington or A&M-CC. There is one other team that plays basketball in the Southland, but not football, but I cant remember who it is at this moment.

Lamar is the other school. UTA was an original SLC member, UTSA joined before the football suggestion and A&M CC was admitted instead of Centenary in 2006.
Centenary was jobbed for 1. having a very good basketball record against the SLC teams in the years leading up to their admission courtship with the conference and 2. the Centenary AD at the time was not willing to lobby the other presidents and ADs to get into the conference. So the SLC took A&MCC and Central Arkansas. The official SLC line was Centenary didnt offer football and 13 teams would make the conference too big.

Who are you that are so wise in the ways of the SLC?
