Davis can win a NC in Chapel Hill. Mack Brown almost did it there but he couldn't get past Bobby Bowden. Chapel Hill is one of America's finest cities. I'd live there if I could. I hear Brown still has a house in Chapel Hill.
Butch Davis signed Marvin Austin the top Defensive Tackle and Dwight Jones the top reciever as well as a spectacular class besides the two of them, last year. The quality of Roy Williams football will allow him to more successfully recruit multi sport athletes such as mike paulus. I would not be supprised if Davis decides to leave UNC to leave for a more traditional football school mabey he will even be the new smu coach but would it take saban type money to bring him hear he's making 2 million a year now. mabey we should look in the SEC for Major Applewhite.

I can think of a reason that Butch Davis would leave North Carolina-because all state schools in North Carolina are subject to some added recruiting restrictions above NCAA minimum admission standards(remember Amato bitchin' at NCST). But SMU could not pay the buyout, could not match North Carolina, could not outbid A&M and his alma mater Arkansas for the job and could not hold him in the future.
