I think if all the "WOW!" coaches are not interested we should maybe go back and take a look at Todd Dodge. Maybe give him an interview. Dodge or Applesauce will one day be the coach of the ThugHorns.

.................Well if we are not in the ball park for a wow coach, it is our own problem because a great coach like Gary Barnett said he was interested and apparently SMU ran him off. Now we are talking to Greg Davis ? Are they kidding ? A quality coach like Barnett is just interested in getting back into coaching and not interested in futher trouble. A perfect example is Orsini's O'Leary. Sounds like maybe we should start the search over and try to get the best coach we can....

What makes NC think Barnett was even discussed by the admin? He made comments about a woman, that is almost as bad as making comments about blacks. He is off limits, not just to this University but to any University with any sense. SMU will not bring him here, are you kidding. You can drink, drug and play with strippers, but don't mess with the off limit groups, ie. women, blacks, and homosexuals. Why do you think Barnett is still unemployed?

I've spent significant time in Alabama and I think the universale sentiment is that Bowden is a bad guy. He lost his job for sleeping with the daughter of a member of the board...is that really what we want?

Just making a point Quick. Think about it. If he is such a good hire, why is he still unemployed? Big 12 coach of the year twice, won the big 12 north twice, and cannot get a job? C'mon Quik, keep it real. He is off limits.

Maybe I'm way off, because I read this press confrence that he was a final candidate for the job but was told we are going with someone else. There is no way he had no contact with SMU. I was told by a search committee member he was a candidate. He is doing what all coaches do when they don't get a job, that is deny interest or in some case pull themselves from consideration. He had to deny contact with SMU not to [deleted] off his current AD and president. I was also told this process was going to be done in complete secrecy just for this reason.
