Ron Zook is not leaving Illinois. And, certainly not for Arkansas. The Illini commited to him and he values that. If he continues his trend at Champaign, he will have a job for life. Beside, he is a Midwesterner.

my source is not that great, however the arkansas job is way better than the illinois job. I hear they are going to offer 10 yr 35 million....that would be hard to turn away.

I'd be shocked if the offer was half that.

Zook owes much of the credit for his success at Illinois on Mike Locksley. The guy is a top 5 recruiter in america. Problem is, he'll be leaving in the next year or two for a head coaching position.

Tuberville is going to Arkansas with a gun. If he wants the job it is his.

Nutt is gone because half of the State hated him. Those that hated him did so not so much because of what he did or did not do on the field or even off the field but because many feel Tuberville should have been hired 10 years ago. Tuberville was on his way to Fayettville when the decision was made to hire Nutt. I would think if Tuberville wants the job it is his. He might have hard feelings but I would imagine a few extra hundred thousand could calm those feelings.

The only person that would make all Arkansas fans happy is Butch Davis but apparently he has recommitted himself to NC.

Apparently he is a native of Camden, AR. But, is anyone nervous about moves from Ole Miss to Auburn, etc.? Would this be a destination job for him. Nationally, Auburn is a better job.

The difference, and Tuberville is very familiar with this, is that Auburn has to compete in-state with Alabama and University of Arkansas has carte blanc in Arkansas. Broyles has kept a strangle hold on all other schools in the state and Arkansas reigns supreme. There are some great athletes in Arkansas and UA gets first choice at them all.
