I have a hard time with the idea that they have unlimited Scholarships. As far as I can tell, they have Zero scholarships. Everyone in that school is paying for their education, including the football players.

The fact is 7 players from the Academies/Prep schools have IMMEDIATELY started at SMU in recent years-what does that say about the "quality" of SMU players assuming you are correct?
That says SMU doesn't get the best players either but I think our current roster is better than Navy's. That's my opinion and You don't know more about any aspect of the game than I. You've proven that.

Me? That everone of em is on the hook for a Commission coming out of school. If they don't make it through, they wind up enlisted and paying it out that way. Either way, Uncle Sam's going to get his.

I have the best understanding of the (lack of) talent level on this board based upon my predictions over the last 10 years. You've been here since 2006 and made a fool out of yourself all year long talking about the "talent" on this team. Its called a Track Record-get one.

That is why so many people have grown tired of you...
Do the math, big man...7 years does not equal 10 years...

Stallion gets testy when proven wrong, although I would grant you he is usually right. This is a week arguement for not picking PJ and he knows it - he is just hanging onto it for ego reasons - typical lawyer.

the better board was an independent

I would certainly miss you if you spent more time on Mustangmaniacs.com, but a man has to do what a man has to do.

i think the main thing here is that navy doesn't come by its players in any way similar to the recruiting environment smu has. i daresay pj could have done as well or better this year in conference usa with his navy team than smu did (they beat some teams better than cusa didn't they?)
what we don't know and would be speculating on is how pj would fare recruiting here, since his job at navy looks a lot more like culling and developing than recruiting.

let me ask an honest question. At what point is service required by the academies? upon graduation? What if you transfer? For instance, I supposed Pete Fleps does not have any service requirement for the time he spent at Navy before coming to SMU. If you can transfer and avoid service, then I would say the Navy system is more of an advantage because you can convince kids to come and see if they fit and like it and then decide.

If the players don't like the military lifestyle and transfer, how would that be an advantage to Navy.
