I'm with Blog on this one. To me, Jones is a retread if there ever was one. How long and how many jobs has it taken him to get to the stage he is at now?
Fortunately, I can't see him leaving a beautiful, easy-going place where people wear shorts and leis everyday to go to a place like HP.

Time to unleash the dogs of war (not death cats).....
IF and Darth means IF it's true that GB is in the mix. Time to put the pressure on Turner that his PC purest stuff has got to be dumped and get GB.
THIS AIN'T ROCKET SCIENCE!

Maybe they have run through the squeaky clean list and are exploring the not-so-clean list.

I dont understand what you mean? Are you referring to all the NFL teams where he was an assistant, because Hawaii is the only college he has ever coached at?
In terms of how long, he's the youngest of the 4 possible candidates mentioned in that article.
I'm not saying that I want Jones or even that I think there's any chance he'll come here. Hawaii is his home, and after this season he'll be negotiating for a nice big raise. I think his "interest" in SMU is more along the lines of Johnson, using us for leverage to negotiate with the school he actually wants. I'm just curious about what you mean about him being a retread. He took over a Hawaii team that was on an 18 game losing streak, 0-12 the year before he got there, and went 9-4 (tied for the WAC championship) in his first season, 75-40 since. He's going to a BCS bowl this year. That's a retread?

Where the blue bloody f--king blazes is Kate? Where the hell is the story? You'd think she would do her f--king job. That way, maybe, just maybe, ponyfans members wouldn't have to do it for her.
What a joke. Kate, if you read this, you have a job to do. Damn you, do it! ...instead of waiting until The Sporting News and God knows who else is on the to search besides you.
All fine except for Gailey
...........Agreed...No question that the increased salary amounts should help us find the right coach. I like the fact that they are at least realizing the need to interview Gary Barnett. Now obviously, June Jones would be an Amazing hire for us.

I am referring to June Jone's stint in the NFL with the Falcons and his 9 or 10 years at Hawaii without doing anything as substantial as this year. This is the first time ever June Jones has really gotten any media buzz around him for his coaching abilities (at least that I recall). To me, he seems like a bit of a shyster. I never liked Glanville either and they seem peas in a pod.

1999 Hawaii 9-4 5-2 T-1st
2000 Hawaii 3-9 2-6 T-6th
2001 Hawaii 9-3 5-3 T-4th
2002 Hawaii 10-4 7-1 2nd
2003 Hawaii 9-5 5-3 T-4th
2004 Hawaii 8-5 4-4 5th
2005 Hawaii 5-7 4-4 5th
2006 Hawaii 11-3 7-1 2nd
2007 Hawaii 12-0 8-0 1st
Hawaii: 75-40 47-24
Total: 75-40
Ummm...I'd take the above. They've been good, you just don't hear about them because their games are late and they're in the WAC. Not bad and Hawaii's a harder place to recruit than you'd think. That being said, I'm guessing he's just trying to get a pay raise. He went to some of his college at HI, coached there as an assistant and has been there awhile.

So is Jones not going to accompany Brennan to the ceremony...because of a book signing...for a book he didn't write...
That's odd.

WHo cares? The man has put up 9 wins or more in 6 of the 9 years he's been there. Man a run at JJ for god's sake.
