Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry are dead. This is a great coach. I believe that Orsini has an ace in the hole, but we should be really excited if we got Coker. He is a great coach. National championship and national coach of the year under his belt. WOW!

There is no way you can tell me this guy is better than Barnett.
This guy is better than Barnett.
quite a joke of a statement, but not funny.
why not? i thought it was, and since humor is subjective, i'm saying it's funny.
I'll tell you what's really funny. the idea of Turner Gill as our HC.
the funny part is we can't get him to come here. Jokes on us. Ask yourself why Ole Larry would come to SMU in a new york minute, meanwhile we can't get Gill to look at us. One has a job, a future and options. The other does not. Is that plain enough to see?

they both sucked
but cavan was an a-hole
i think phil will coach again
cavan i doubt will
I couldn't stand Cavan either, and I also doubt he will coach again.
PB will probably coach again, but I doubt he will ever be more than a coordinator.

so, why would he come to SMU if he's so great? Why would Tulsa choose to hire a rookie head coach from Rice instead? Wow is right, but not the good kind of wow hire.

if you want further proof go to this canes board and ask anyone, ask for a poster named Shadow or Nole80 and you will get very respected opinions

What does it say about Butch Davis' abilities that Coker took the Davis-recruited talent and actually won a championship in his first season as the HC? Coker can't motivate? I guess the spirits of Jimmy Johnson and Howard Schnellenberger conjured up the motivation for them to win that national championship and not the actual coach, Coker.
How many major college coaches do you know that motivated their team game after game to go out and win twenty-five straight times? Bud Wilkinson comes to mind, and maybe Pete Carroll (I don't remember how many his teams won) It's not easy to win 25 consecutive games, but Coker did. And he did so in his first college HC job and it started with his very first game.

i think 1-11 can get worse:
1. 0-12 can happen
2. death penalty part two

once again they won with Butch Davis recruits because of the "Count to 3, 4 and 5 years after successive great recruiting classes" Doctrine.

And you think Larry Coker will do both of those options? Crazy and silly. Wow. Then why did we fire Phil? Bring him back. Let's not take a chance.

No, your point? They took a look at Coker and said thanks but no thanks, even though he is a Tulsa former coach. They went to Rice to get their coach instead of the utterly available Coker.

Same kids who were there under Butch Davis is my point. And how many national titles did Davis win with those kids? How title games did he even get them to? Answers: 0

Thank goodness you are not in charge of finding a coach. That is my point.
