Why hasn't the president of UH been involved from the beginning?????
Why would you consider staying with a school who only tried to retain you at the 11th hour?????
Sounds like the ineptness of the administration there is ABSOLUTELY TRUE! That is a terrible way to run things, and quite frankly, if I were Jones, I would be incredibly INSULTED that it took until the VERY LAST SECOND to come through with all of this.
DON'T FALL FOR IT JUNE! THEY ARE ONLY DOING THIS TO COVER THEIR ASSES AND SAVE THEIR JOBS FROM THE ANGRY MOB! THE UH ADMIN HAS NO RESPECT FOR YOU OR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR THEM!
Read between the lines. They're setting this up for June to return as the conquering hero. If this was going to happen, they wouldn't be sending out all these positive signals to the folks back home, only to dash them a few hours later.

Ding ding ding ding ding ding....we have a winner.
Doesn't make the 11th hour deal or the fact that the UH president didn't get involved until this weekend any less insulting.
There isn't a coach in the country that goes into their final year of a contract without an extension. If the AD hadn't gotten this done last year, the university president should have been all over him.
Nothing has changed their JJ! Just your contract. You'll still have all the same problems you had before. Time for a clean slate.
I don't know why he would go back to Hawaii for less money and for a school that is just telling him there is a commitment to better facilities versus a school who has already demonstrated that commitment with Ford Stadium.
While some of us might worry about getting Hawaii's hopes up with these comments, I don't think an agent would. I think they are just trying to get SMU to give on some final points in the contract or get a little more $

Or leading UH to believe that just a little bit more will push them over the top.
