Nobody has opposed the faculty. Turner and Orsini made it very clear that these funds were raised independent of the general fund so as not to further draw upon the University. This is a silly post.
Besides, these days I'm seeing much more positive support for athletics from the faculty than I'm hearing anything negative.
If the "new" players are stupid, I hope they stay in their "own" majors. It doesn't do them a lot of service to struggle through the core curriculum or the Cox School. On second thought, along with a loosening of standards, there should be an increase in academic support!

Either they accept the changes or they can go teach somewhere else. It's their choice.
As I said before, this university was here before these people were here and it will be here when they leave. This is a great school. The faculty doesn't make the school. They are a part of the school.
The students make the school.
I know you post because you like to read your own thoughts on here as if they're "published," but this rant is idiotic at best. We're not getting good students at SMU because the columns in front of Dallas Hall look pretty during Celebration of Lights. There's a reason universities - including SMU - trumpet the accomplishments of the extraordinary scholars who make up their faculty. Take away a great faculty and you have a school like DeVry or North Texas State.
Stop with this rant. You're only amusing yourself.
