Nope. We don't play UAB again until 2009. We play them for 2 years straight, then take 2 years off. That's the way it's done with all the CUSA East teams. We are in the middle of the 2 year stint with UCF, Memphis, and S Miss. Then we do the 2 year stint with E Carolina, Marshall, and UAB.

Not to confuse the issue, but I have had seen in the past that the Texas State opener was to be there and not in Dallas.

Texas State is here to open the season from everything I have seen.
Hey Webmaster...can we get the schedule back on the frontpage? Even if it is best guess.

The stadium in San Marcos would feel like you're playing at Highlander Stadium at Highland Park. Seriously. I've been there. The most exciting thing about it is that it's within walking distance of Aquarena Springs where the swimming pig still performs daily.

It's been a while since you have been there then. Aquarena Springs is now an aquatic research facility for the University and Ralph has been retired for many years now. The stadium seats 15,700, about half your size. In one end is the endzone complex with state of the art weight facilities and player classrooms. There are separate rooms for offense, defense, skilled players and an auditorium for full team meetings, all feature high end video systems for film work. Coaches offices and other classrooms for player tutoring sessions are also included along with a large party room, banquet hall that overlooks the stadium and includes a balcony where big donors gather to watch games. At the other end is the new 70 by 40 foot scoreboard that has a larger hi def wide screen than does Ford. The only thing that really sucks is the sound system.
As announced in the five year plan to move up to FBS football the stadium will be expanded to 25,000 to start with, up to 32,000 in the second phase. A new pressbox/luxery suite facility will also be built on the home side of the stadium similar to Ford's (at least I hope it's that nice).

The last time I was in Bobcat Stadium was in 2001 to see former SMU QB Josh McCown lead the Bearkats to victory over ya'll, 31-13. The 'build out' had just started. The day that TSU-SM moves up to Div. 1 FBS is the day that hell freezes over.

And, oh yeah...BOTH of my teams (SHSU and SMU) will defeat the Bob Kitties next year. How nice.

Guess it's getting pretty cold then. There will be a student vote to raise the athletic fee in February to help fund the move up. If that passes, and most folks think it will, then a major private fund-raising phase will begin. There will be several construction phases, the first a new baseball/softball complex to replace the less that high school quality facility we have now, along with Bobcat Stadium build up and finally an overhaul of Strahan Collesium, the 7400 seat basketball/volleyball arena.
There are several reasons this is being done but in my opinion the main reason is UTSA's move to create a Division 1 FBS program in the next 7 to 10 years. If that happens before Texas State moved to FBS then the university never will and our recruiting will be severely limited, cutting off a lot of talent from San Antonio and the RGV that might come to Texas State.
