SMU actually plays in University Park, not Dallas.SoCal_Pony wrote:LA_Mustang wrote:I believe the Mavs are easily the second most relevant team in the DFW....here is my order......
1. Cowboys

7. Golf
8. Red Raiders
9. TCU
10. SMU
11. UNT
The BIG difference LA is that outside of the Mavs and the Stars, SMU is the ONLY team that plays in Dallas.
When you factor in our ticket prices, there is no reason we can't succeed.

Crap, there are only 23,000 people in UP. We'll never fill Ford.

A+
My point is that with 1M residents in Dallas, SMU's goal should be to attract 10k non-alumni who want to see a good product at a fair price.

Gotta call BS on your rankings, SoCal.
No way Golf ranks below the Rangers, unless you mean a weekend of "Walker, Texas Ranger"?!?

Actually those are LA's rankings and I have no idea why Golf is included and Bowling is not.
Bowling would rank ahead of TCU, SMU or NTSU.

What about FC Dallas? In the 2007 season played 15 homes games with a total attendance of 227,182 or 15,145 per game. Many of its games were on football weekends. I know because my season tickets did not get used on some occasions because of SMU games. Say what you want, but soccer is growing in popularity in America and is here to stay. A very physical, skillful, athletic game. Very few can play at a high level.
