Gotta put hudman in there someone. He was hands down our best defensive player last year and deserves to play a lot next year. Having a safety rotation would be nice for a change. I wouldn't have a problem putting mapps over martin and butler, just make sure to fix the fumbling issues

Givens at UTEP? Whatever, he was a dissapointment here anyways. I never saw him do much.

Bryan McCann would like very much to be able to at least return one punt.
My source tells me that McCann and Ryan Leonard have flunked out. He could be wrong (and I hope he is), but that is what his "inside" contacts tell him. I would like to get further confirmation from some of the insiders on this board.

I just checked the roster and noticed that Leonard's name has been removed, but not McCann's. Hope he is still eligible!

Remember this was my starting lineup not the only people that are going to play. As we saw last year you need 2 deep at every DL position.
My reason for taking Hudman and Bonilla out of the starting lineup is strictly because of the lack of speed. I would like to see Hudman put on about 10- 15lbs and possible play outside LB, similar to McCray. Bonilla could play an inside LB in running situations but with the pass happy CUSA i dont see much playing time for a guy who has a hard time covering in space.
As far as Lobo goes, I have heard from numerous people close to the program that he is extremely soft. If that is true I don't see a new coach starting him just because he played under the old regime.
If Givens has tranfered to UTEP than insert anyone of the other WR on the roster as the 4th receiver.
The reason that I started Mapps is because he is the perfect "scat back" type player for the run and shoot. He is also not afraid to hit somebody whil blocking for the QB.

Givens name was also still on the roster FWIW.

That sucks if Givens is gone. I guess that opens the door for Aldrick Robinson, or an incoming freshman or JUCO transfer (depending on our recruiting class of course).
One thing to note is that while Jones didn't use TEs much last season in his UH offense, we actually have some TEs with height that might compliment our shorter wideouts. Patrick Fleming made a few nice plays late last season and is 6'4". Sanders represents probably the best combo of talent and height (6'1") at WR. Vincent Chase will be a senior and is 6'5" - maybe more of a blocking TE, but still can make a nice catch when called upon.

I saw McCann going to class at the end of last week.

For the first time?

It was in between classes. I have no idea of his attendance record.

Personally, I think Givens never fully recovered from being sick. But by the time he did get to near full speed, Willis and Sanders were having a passing lovefest and Givens was odd man out.
If true, it's a big loss on the depth chart at WR.

From what I heard, Leonard could not find his classrooms last semester.

He and the rest of the D-Line had the same problems last season but with QBs.

I worry about Morestead's leg. Especially if we let him handle kickoffs. Can we get him some rest somehow? How about letting Cunningham handle extra points?
