Somebody is claiming on the message board of MM.com that this kid committed last week. A 3 star that nobody seems to know much about-not even a story. Its hard to do a search on him because you keep coming up with stories about Robert Parker the Wine Expert.

I heard Humble High DE Robert Parker Committed to the Mustangs last week on his visit. He was the District 21-5A Defensive MVP. He is 6'0 250lbs and runs a 4.5 and has a 40 inch vertical jump. He is a freak!!!

With that kind of speed I hope they put him at outside LB. Would be a good 3 star catch for SMU.

Looking pretty definite-the guy who made the original post on MM.com-says he is a former high school friend and was personally told by Parker himself that he committed.

I was born in Texas. I just happen to revere the greatness of William Tecumseh Sherman.

If the speed is correct, I wonder if we might get him down to 235, and put him at the mike lb spot.

An absolutely outstanding American, albeit a crazy one. And a proud relative of mine, so everyone keep it civil towards us Yankees.

This is actually a video showing one of Parkers' teammates but he is playing left side DE or Outside linebacker whatever you want to call it. He doesnt look like he is 250lbs but he might be. There are a couple of highlights of him. On one he hurdles a blocker and another he sacks the QB pretty hard.

I'd say he's not very well coached, has some poor tecniques and takes some plays off. Generally needs to play at a higher gear.

With 4.5 speed at 250+ and a 40" vertical leap, great DE prospect at rushing the passer.....Like I said before, JJ is good at finding athletes and though alot of these guys are not that highly recruited, many are excellent athletes including this guy !

I hate to say it but after viewing #85 on that tape I'm hoping we lose out on this guy to TCU  or someone else dumb enough to offer. He looked like he was playing on a field of ice and had an aversion to tackling the ball carrier. The way he gently bumps into the Offensive Tackle prior to running past the ball carrier is a point of concern as well.

I hope this doesn't actually translate to...."The bottom of the barrell". JJ can find and sign the ones that are not highly sought after, so could any of us. However, let's get 'em and coach 'em to greatness!
