"Anyway, what's the best way to get tickets and ensure we're with other Mustangs?"

Purchase your tickets through the SMU ticket office. Usually for road games (depending on demand) they have SMU fans grouped together. Sometimes they have to split us into a couple of different areas, but you'll almost always be seated with fellow Mustang fans.

Where is the 2008 schedule?

the smu 2008 schedule is not out yet.

someone stated we are waiting on CUSA to finalize.

others say we are in talks with tulane and others
about having an earlier game in august against
tulane or other team in tx because ESPN would
carry it nationally.

maybe out by spring game?

What's the date of this game? Is it 8/28/08? I'm in the Maryland side of the DC metro and would love to be able to see the new June Jones powered offense!

Before you iron clad those travel plans, you might want to be sure when the game is going to be played unless you're staying the entire weekend. Its a TV game so it could be at noon, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 p.m. Flying into BWI is usually the best price from DFW. The other airport in DC is DCA (Reagan) is usually more expensive and subject to the Wright rule restrictions. Dulles (IAD) is further away from Annapolis, but if you're staying in No. Va. you might get a deal to fly there. The hotels may be booked up because the Chesapeake Triathalon is that weekend. It occurs on Saturday. So, you'll see lots of fit people in Annapolis that day.

re: "I hope they do not change to a Thursday night game"

CSTV has already picked up the SMU/Navy game on Sat Oct 25 for national television so I really doubt the date is going to change, but even if they did, hotel reservations can be cancelled/changed for free as long as it is 24/48 hours before the date. They don't charge the credit card until the day of the stay. Plus I would think the hotel would have even more availability on a Thurs anyway. If they change the game to a Thurs we'll just fly in Wed and stay Wed & Thurs instead. Crabcakes will taste the same no matter what night of the week!

And the beer is just a cold. But CSTV doesn't have the right to carry Thursday games, I don't think. And Navy's sole contract is with CSTV except for the A/N Game which is with CBS. So its at Navy's field, its their contract carrier. So, it will likely be on Saturday, but it could be either day or night.

Since the General will probably still be stationed in D.C. during that time, I will most certainly be at the game! We should schedule a get together Friday night in the D.C. area to toast the team

Please assure the PF.com folks that you are referring to your lovely wife and not our beloved poster George S. Patton to whom many refer to as the General.
