Good luck. 48 hours for the physical stuff, then it's just mental.

Quitters never win.

On Monday, I shall dub '94 and myself "The Quitters Club" or perhaps "The Quitters Qlub".... on Tuesday we will welcome one Mr. ExPony.

'94, I propose we move the quit day to Tuesday. Not only in solidarity with expony.... but Monday is St. Patty's Day.

For some reason, I was thinking it was Sunday. I bought a pack special yesterday just for going out on St. Patty's Day. Figured I would just give away whatever was left to one of my smoker friends at the end of the night... if there were any left. Cigarettes, not smokers.

Seriously, having them around has been a great test, though. I am proud to say I have passed. I'm holding strong with the snus.

St. Patty's day is my favorite holiday (okay so it's not a national holiday), and I am thinking a fitting night to smoke my last smoke. What do you say '94?

...

Actually, regardless.... I am going to say that I am moving my quit day to Tuesday. I have been building up the SPD blowout idea ever since you suggested Monday, and I just mistakenly thought, hey that's a great idea, it's the day after "Kiss me I'm hammered" day... how fitting. I want to go out every year on St. Patty's Day and remember that St. Patrick's Day 2008 I smoked my last smoke.

I don't care if I chew the gum for a year. I want to send my worst habit off with a fond farewell.... and a horrid vengeance.

Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I know because I've done it thousands of times.

Games I have downloaded for my BlackBerry, in anticipation of joining/creating the "PonyFans Quitters Never Win" club:

Texas Hold 'Em King 2
Medieval Kings Chess 2
Golden Tee Golf Mobile
Call of Duty 3
(Decided against Call of Duty 4 because I'd rather hunt Nazis)
Sudoku
MagneticJoe

BTW - MagneticJoe is awesome. I mean they are all awesome, but obviously I'm sure some people are like, what the hooha is MagneticJoe??? It's a silly game where you press and release a single button to magnetize 'Joe', a metal ball with a smiley face, to avoid obstacles. Strangely addictive, and more difficult than it sounds.

Dunno' what chess, sodoku, and hold 'em are rated... just know that I would enjoy those games regardless, but the other three all got an 8 or higher on BerryReview... good stuff.

I will allow you Thad to start tomorrow but today is our first real test and I have decided to press forward

I think you should stick to your guns and start today. Smoking on St. Paddy's day will just make you lose the momentum you have to this point and make it harder to quit in the long run.

Not great, but not terrible. Tonight will be the real test.

Off topic, I was in town this weekend and took the girlfriend for a walk around campus. For months she has saying she could not support SMU because she is an Aggie, but as we were leaving she said she wanted to go buy a SMU sweatshirt and now wants to attend the home opener

Thanks. I'll report back.... still haven't opened the pack, and, with the snus, really haven't desired to. Okay, I've desired to, but I'm telling you this snus stuff has worked where all others have failed. Hopefully, the gum will be just as good.... or at least almost as good

Well played.

You're right, I've been battling that thought all day.... but it's St. Patrick's Day. The Bacchanalia, the Roman festival of debauchery.

Stuprum iam,
Degenero perrenis!!!

Debauchery now,
Degeneracy forever!!!

(That's my personal slogan.... not one from a book, etc.)

How'd you manage that?
