If I had that kind of money, first, I'd buy SMU good football and basketball. Second, I'd buy SMU the largest, most phallic-shaped building in the world, and I'd put it on the Ms. Bairds plant as a nice F-YOU to the university park people who keep the 'height restriction' in place and thus hamper SMU development.

Okay, I have no problem with the height restriction. It doesn't hamper our development. It forces us to build a little less than traditionally, but I really appreciate the not-as-menacing size and look of our campus. I don't want 20 story dorms and stuff.

How hard would it be to hit that dude with a jet airliner?

These people have entirely too much money.
Burj in arabic means "tower", or so I'm told...

The burj Dubai (yes, different building, is competing with the Dubai al-burj, but their official heights have not been published for "competitive" reasons.

Very similar to the "bundled straws" concept from the Sears Tower.

Perhaps that is why the school is purchasing land on the east side of the fwy where the old ua cine theatre is (was). I'm assuming no University Park restrictions & you could still make it part of the overall campus - especially as the campus builds to the east.

I could tell you, but that would constitute hazing.

Highly doubtful, SMU seems to be moving a lot of administration over there at this point. And SMU has shown schematically that the Library will be located where the current Binkleys are.

A very large one to my understanding. In this way we will laugh at the height restrictions of University Park by building our super-dorm in the city of Dallas.
