We won't be winning anything without a defense. I really hope it is 500 times better.

These previews have been great. Interesting random info, good recaps and highlights of last year, expectations for this year, links to relevant news and message boards, etc. Great stuff. Only 107 days left till CFB and UGA's MNC season begins. :D

Coincidence that SMU is rated #107 and there are 107 days left until football?

Absolutely not.

It would be nice if it held mystical signifigance, but uh... think about it. They're counting these down to the start of the football season. Sorry to burst the bubble, my man.

You just made me laugh out loud. Literally. Hence my not typing the proverbial 'LOL' ... which I increasingly feel is not actually what happened, it's more, "I smiled and almost made a chuckle... okay LOL."

But, uh, sorry about ruining the day. "Sure hope the lifestyle comes together." (Douglas Adams)

For me, football season begins when camp opens, on the 1st of August.

In the last 20 years, I 've trained myself to have somewhat lower expectations when it comes to SMU revenue sports, but dang it 4-8!?

How many games did we lose in OT or in the final minutes last year? 3-4?

We've had a serious upgrade at coach. Dennis returns from injury, we add Odiari and the other JUCO DB whose name escapes me, along with hopefully some maturation on defense to accompany a better defensive game plan.

If we find a QB that can run the Jones offense, couldn't we at least expect to reach the numbers of 2006 (6-6)? Have our 2008 opponents improved that much?

Man, I 'm really tired of having low expectations. I was hoping the Jones hire would end all of that.

...cue the obligatory anti-sunshiner rants.

The credit goes to MustangMatt and ALL4SMU, the two founders of this site. Those guys started this thing from scratch and worked incredibly hard to get the site going. Any accolades and publicity that come our way are owed to them first.

Prediction:

Our wins this year:

1. Rice: our QB situation will start to take form. Expect Bo Levi to have some minutes in this game. He won every regional playoff game on this field; with probably larger crowds.

2. Texas State
3. TCU: You heard it here first. This game will be a huge momentum and confidence boost.
4. Tulane: We start the season at 4-1.
5. Houston: in a close game. Record: 5-3
6. Navy: National recognition time.
7. Southern Miss.

Final record: 7-5, we play in a bowl. This is not only possible, I think the coach's would be disappointed if it didn't happen.

You heard it here first, ponyfans. The Froggies will be drunk when they return to Ford on Sept. 20.
