Braden Smith completed his first 3 passes and was moving the team when he was intercepted because his receiver couldn't make the catch of a ball that hit him in the helmet. The pass may have been a little high, but it probably should have been caught.

Why Players Play in All Star Games

College coaches don't want to PO there high school counter parts. Thus while I am sure they don't like it they are not about to prohibit any player who wants to play. Can you imagine the recruiting fodder that would be generated if a big name high school player was prohibited by his soon to be college coach from playing in an all star game.
How much cooperation would the college coach subsequently get from the high school coaches ?

What a great finish that turned out to be.

What were the ratings of Smith vs Dodge again? Couldn't help but notice Smith really looked comfortable in the shotgun. McJunkin less so.

My thoughts after watching the SMU recruits last night:
Braden Smith - looks like a good leader, smart player. offensive line was terrible and he had to run for his life back there. don't think he will stretch the field much, more a dink and dunk, Jeff Garcia type of QB
Quincy Whittington - played in the slot, only saw him make one catch. looks pretty small. i knew he was short but i thought he had more bulk.
Taylor Thompson - played TE and even split out wide at WR. looks very athletic for a guy his size. he did get lit up and put on his butt hard both times he had the ball but only after making nice gains. i look forward to seeing him at DE if that is where he plays
Blake Mcjunkin - had trouble snapping the ball in the shotgun, bounced or rolled almost everyone back to the QB. he also will need to get stronger because he was pushed back into the backfield on more than one occasion

One probably had a lot to do with the other
