Shoulder Surgery

thanks for the insight... i have a complete tear, so they are going to place screws in my shoulder and go from there. i'm young enough that i need to do it now, so that i can get as much out of it as possible.RE Tycoon wrote:I had surgery last Nov. to repair my frayed labrum and stretched out capsule. I'm still having soreness issues and lingering range of motion issues. However, I can pretty much do everything I did before like lift weights (albeit not up to pre-surgery levels), play golf, etc.
I think a lot of my problems stem from the fact that the doc had to really tighten things up b/c of the loose capsule. A straight labrum repair might yield different results. Btw, not sure how old you are, but I'm 26. One of the reasons the doc suggested surgery as opposed to living with it.

Deepest apologies. My son (with his eyes still covered) and myself are very sorry.couch 'em wrote:Hey! Re: Shoulder Surgery
I hope to have a son one day. I plan on raising him hard and strong, with as much exposure to as much bizarre and inappropriate material as early as possible to see if I can create a more concentrated debauched person than myself. rehab varies depending on how extensive your P.T. is and how bad the tear is in the labrum.
I can tell you for about 6 weeks youll be in a sling and the rehab will start after that. depending on how bad the tear is, the time table varies on the surgery and the type of tear you have. it could be 2-4 months after you get off the sling, it could take up to a year. I recommend surgery.
I tore my rotator cuff and labrum wrestling in high school and decided to not have the surgery because i would have missed the state tournament. one of the biggest mistakes of my life. to this day i still have sharp pain in my arm.
