I thought the show was good. I was a little sad that it was only 2 songs, but still it was more marching than most of the 3 song shows.
It would still be nice to see the band play as much as they used to. Uniform changes used to happen in shifts so that there was still band to play during the game and it didn't leave a big gap in the stadium for an entire quarter.
I understand that a lot of stuff is mandated by the band director and some by the higher-ups. So, good job band.
Congrats to the band

Such a difference between our band and TCU's which continues to produce little or no sound year after year. They weren't even clear on their halftime routine.
As much as I have been critical, I thought some of you would like to know this.
True, we weren't loud but our "sound quality" was far superior. (Lots of sarcasm there.)

This is what I attend football games to see. Concert Bands on a football field. Just can't beat that experience.
Actually, my hat is off to the TCU marching band. They completed the bad atmosphere experience.
Just send 'da money.

My daughter is a freshman at SMU and we flew in from NJ for parent’s weekend. I have not been to a college football game in about 10 years (last one was SMU in Ownby stadium). So I did not know what to expect.
I saw the band play almost non stop the entire game. I saw the cheer leaders jump and dancing along with the band. I saw the stands empty at 1/2 time and the band stayed well after the game ended and played another 1/2 dozen songs to an empty stadium. The SMU band is under funded and I hope I am not reading under appreciated.
the PA system plays LOUD CRAPY music while our band is playing football music. The PA songs suck, are LOUD, annoying and are a disservice to the dedication of the band members. If the marketing departments reads ponyfans.com STOP with the LOUD CRAPPY PA MUSIC. You were rudely playing over your own college band. Ingrates.
The TCU band was twice the size and about equal in volume.

Exactly why I mention sarcasm. Who cares about sound quality at a football game? Just PLAY LOUD!
