Academically SMU is knocking on the top 50 door. Tulsa is second tier at best. TCU and Baylor are well below us.
I have no idea where our indoor golf range ranks - but I am guessing pretty low.

yeah but not ex's soon to be alma mater.
I know a guy who went to undergrad at Tech and law school at Texas. He bleeds burnt orange, denounces Tech. I worry that ex is headed down that same path.

i will never root for a team that has golden poop for a mascot
however, it is nice to be on a campus where the students:
a)have school spirit
b) go to the games
c) stay till the end
d) all of the above

Tulsa is a regional school that accepts 70% plus applicants for a 4,000 student body. A very small school without the endowment or location to attract national class faculty.
Tulsa struggles to fill a class and is not in the same league as SMU.
Tulsa is to SMU as SMU is to Rice academically. Different levels.
That said, Tulsa figured out the sports - more specifically winning mens football and basketball teams - are great recruiting tools to bring in students.
Something the SMU board didn't figure out until a few years ago.
