I can't help but believe when these people call these 16 and 17 years olds and inquire about how these recruits view SMU? their visitations? the coaching staff? and their rankings of schools? that it doesn't directly help our recruiting. They can call these recruits when the coaches and supporters cannot.

you are totally right about that. These guys can also find out information from these kids that the kids might not tell the coaches. they can gauge if they are interested or just telling the coaches what they want to hear.
we are lucky that Armen and Josh are with us. Most schools only have one good site. if they do have two, they spend more time tearing each other down than helping the school. I can't speak for Rivals, but I know Josh told me once in a private after I joined his site that he had the "upmost respect" for Armen and the job he does. that's pretty rare to hear from an competition sites publisher.
I just started posting on these message boards and am really starting to enjoy it. Getting to hang out with other SMU fans. Has it always been like this? A total complaing fest?
Thanks for the highlight clips. Reminds me alot of a kid we had playing some qb for us a few years ago out of Denton Ryan.Cadillac wrote:http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=69493&season=2010&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fncf%2frecruiting%2ftracker%2fplayer%3frecruitId%3d69493%26season%3d2010
It is well established that some of the writers for the team recruiting sites advocate for their schools.Mexmustang wrote:Both Scout and Rivals are doing a very good job this year. you are correct, the Jeremy Johnson that committed is not the one in the video.MustangIcon wrote:I may be missing the boat here (I don't have a rivals subscription) but I think the highlight video posted by Cadillac is for a different Jeremy Johnson than the one that committed to us.
I hope he's as good as the kid on the highlight reel.MustangIcon wrote:I may be missing the boat here (I don't have a rivals subscription) but I think the highlight video posted by Cadillac is for a different Jeremy Johnson than the one that committed to us.

damn and he isnt the one rated 77 on rivals is he. What if the SMU coaches made that mistake too and gave the wrong guy an offer!!!!White Helmet wrote:you are correct, the Jeremy Johnson that committed is not the one in the video.MustangIcon wrote:I may be missing the boat here (I don't have a rivals subscription) but I think the highlight video posted by Cadillac is for a different Jeremy Johnson than the one that committed to us.
