Agreed. If someone can think of a more highly rated QB we have had here so far this decade please let me know. And most importantly from my understanding Coach Jones values this young man very highly(regardless to what some other posters may think).

Just a quick clarification, he is the #34 ranked Pro-style QB. Rivals also classifies dual-threat qbs.
Also, for reference purposes, Javia Hall (Dallas Skyline) is the 25th ranked pro-style qb and committed to North Texas; Matt Joeckel (TAMU) is 19th; Scotty young (TT) is 10th and Scroggins is 6th.
Again, hope we get him, but thought we would've landed a bigger fish with JJ's resume.

Not with a 1-11 record. We will see how we do this year. Coach Jones has Kaiser rated higher than Hall or Joeckel which is all that matters. I trust Coach Jones in this situation.

Jones needs to start winning some of these battles to prove how much of an "accomplished" recruiter he is.

So assume the list had ahead of Kaiser at least Young, Scoggins, Canyon, Carter, & Perro? Do you have the complete QB ranking list from JJ?
FWIW I do think Kaiser is a very good prospect and would be a nice pckup for almost any program. Kid has a big upside and if he can get with the right coach (Jones) he could possibly be a tremendous QB.

Scotty Young number 1, Scroggins number2 and Kaiser number3. We have only made 3 QB offers this year.

Evaluation
Kaiser is a definite sleeper prospect in this class that will likely see his recruitment heat up over the summer months and into his senior campaign. He is a very sound pocket passer with deceptive athleticism. Possesses good height and upside for further frame development at the next level. Kaiser is a passer that displays very good overall fundamentals as a passer from his feet on up. Shows good foot quickness, drop speed and set up. Gets back and gets set with balance and poise and he displays very good command of the scheme. Is confident in his pre-snap reads and he does an excellent job surveying the field and working through his reads. Ball carriage within the pocket is consistent and he is always ready to pull up, plant and deliver if he needs to earlier than anticipated. While his delivery can be long, it is smooth and he is capable of getting rid of the ball quickly. He shows good zip on underneath throws and the arm strength to make the necessary throws at the intermediate level and beyond. He does not have a "rocket", but he shows enough power coupled with his great feet and timing to get the ball where it needs to be. He has a nice feel for anticipating routes and the clock in his head tells him when the ball has to come out. He can hit his 5th step, plant and throw with no hesitation or hitch steps forward in the pocket. He is a very good ball handler and does a nice job with play-action, freezing defenders and then fitting the ball between coverage. Shows touch and the ability to change ball speeds and can drop the fade and corner route in over-the top. He isn't a dual-threat by any means, but he has enough athleticism to sidestep the rush and buy second passing chances. Isn't afraid to tuck the ball when he has to and gets yards with his legs. As mentioned, we wish his release was a little more compact, but it is consistent and so is his methods play-to-play. He will need to continue to bulk up and add strength to his frame. Overall, Kaiser is a player we feel has real upside to develop into a quality BCS level player. His best football is definitely ahead of him.

Willis was the nation's #28 dual-threat
Chris Phillips was also rated the #28 dual-threat
Ricky Joe Meeks was the #27 Pro-style
All rated higher than Kaiser, not that ratings mean much as splendidly demonstrated above.

You did not rain on my parade. I was not talking about ranking I was talking about ratings. Willlis was a 5.5 3 star and Stephen Kaiser is a 5.6 3 star. And June Jones places a high value on him and that's what counts more than what anyone thinks.

Good post Nick. A 79 would be the highest graded player we have in this class so far.
