That 40 time has to be inaccurate.
I bet he ends up at ILB, or maybe even DL, if he continues to get stronger.

What I have heard is he will be playing OLB or DE.

Too short for DE, too slow (even ignoring ESPN info) for OLB. Best hope heputs on 40 lbs of muscle and plays interior DL.

Torlan Pittman is playing DE at 5 foot 11

Thanks coach.

I'll pass that info on to our coaches.

I tend to disregard that time - he could have pulled up-but its hard to disregard all those numbers which really aren't that good. I found a link that shows the measurements were taken at a Dallas Under Armour Camp on March 1, 2009. Another possibility is that he was still recovering from the leg injury which caused him to miss games in late November 2008-and note he didn't participate in BB at Lincoln despite being District Newcomer of the Year as a Sophomore in 2007-2008. Very well could have been that he was still rehabiliatating. He couldn't get on the field and excell at QB with that kind of time-plus I believe he had about 400 yards in 9 games rushing as a Junior so it doesn't add up.

Pittman in 11 games had 11 tackles (7 solo) and 1 QB hurry.

He played NG or rather DT last year. Of course, he doesn't project to the DE spot in a 3-4-but its summertime when that really doesn't matter too much

So what is the verdict with this guy....off injury and JJ will be proven right after this upcoming season, or is this a phil bennet pickup

They ran timed 40 yards sprints Sunday, does anyone know what his times were?

I don't think the QB's ran 40's, but I could be incorrect about that.

can we get a ruling? is he recruited as a qb?
if so, is this our one qb for this class?

Not a QB...OLB or DE. Pay attention.

With blazing 5.33 speed, it's highly unlikely.

I refuse to believe that 40 time. Either it was recorded inaccurately, or he's coming off an injury or something.
That's not to say a guy running a 5.3 can't play, but that time would be for an offensive lineman only, and in those cases, he'd better be 6-7, 330 or something.
At this time of year, you're offering elite athletes. No matter how gifted this guy is, a gifted athlete at QB is not running a 5.3. That time is messed up somehow.
