Thanks so much for the update in Cowtown. However, you are talking to a group of fans who were being cheated out of National Championships while you were in diapers.
Back in the day, Joe Paterno did not have a championship, so the powers that be decided to give him one. At least now they have a mathmatical formula that helps them to justify such decisions - but it is still a load of cr*p.
Just deal with it and settle for your bowl game against Georgia Tech/Oregon/Iowa or whoever you all get and be happy.

Re: Is TCU a National Title Contender?
I wish TCU would get the opportunity. Unfortunately, I don't have any faith in the system to treat non BSC teams fairly.
The Cartel that functions as a monopoly has no interest in competition. If it did, it wouldn't have automatic bids based on whether a conference was in the BSC or not.
I wish TCU did get a shot but I don't think it will happen.
And the only way to know if TCU deserves to play in the national championship game is for TCU to have the opportunity to play in it.

Re: Is TCU a National Title Contender?
let's not forget Cincinnatti in this discussion of teams that won't get consideration to play for a national championship. Cincy could run the table and end up playing Ga Tech/Clemson in the orange Bowl.
I don't see the system giving TCU a shot, unless Texas, Bama and Florida all lose before the final decision is made.
I'm also concerned that TCU won't get a shot at the Sugar Bowl and the SEC runner-up, but that's the game I'd like to see. All year the talk in these parts has been the SEC Championship game is the "real" national title game. I respect the SEC but would love to see TCU beat either FL or Bama

They have played 3 teams that were rated in the top 25 when they played them, Texas, Florida and Alabama have only played 1 each so far.

I think TCU could handle Florida. Not sure about Alabama but it would be fun to watch.

This just in:
BCS announces the "I TOLD YOU SO BOWL" to be played 2 weeks after the national championship game, wherein TCU will play Texas for the sole purpose of shutting frogs the hell up.

Florida beats Alabama in SEC championship
Florida plays UT right?
Does Alabama stay at #2 or #3 or move lower?
TCU plays Bama?

TCU would have a hard time getting in even if Texas lost a game. 3 is as high as they can possibly get. Still had a good season though.

Can you say playoffs
Hope that somehow TCU, and Texas can end up playing for the national fictional something or
other. If so, I HATE TEXAS, but I got a feeling froggies taste like chicken.

to paraphrase Rick from Casablanca:
"When you get there, call me..."
long answer: no...TCU will not get a shot under the current format.

Alabama has played 4 thank you. Virginia Tech, Mississippi, South Carolina, and LSU. I have ties to Bama as my son is going there, but if TCU played Bama's schedule I don't think they would be undefeated. Week after week of playing top competition drains you. TCU plays a weak MWC schedule. Getting up for two teams in conference isn't as hard. They barely beat a mid BCS team in Clemson. We played heads up with them for a half.

That mid BCS team (Clemson) could still win the ACC and end up playing Cincy in the Orange Bowl. Death Valley is a tough place for anyone to win. Give TCU credit...but I will agree they would not likely accomplish an unbeaten season playing in the SEC
