I just had a visit with Quinn to donate my tickets to the Air Force. He informed me the powers that be are giving condideration to some type of commerative for donors of tickets. A printer copy of a ticket would be fine with me. If they hear from enough of us, maybe!

Great idea! I like it.

Just a though for you that would like to keep your ticket but give it away.

I’m not sure if this works for bowl seats. But you could log into your mustang club account and choose to send your tickets via email. For $2.50 each and keep the originals.

I have a question regarding this plan.

Can they apply some of the unused bus money they raised before the Tulane game towards getting some SMU attire for the honorable servicemen and women who will be receiving the tickets?

As an SMU Alumni and F-16 fighter pilot in the USAF stationed in Japan, I am proud to see JJ making this gesture, what a remarkable guy. I told myself at the begining of the season if we made it to a bowl I would go. I originally thought I would be able to make good on my promise since I had a feeling it was going to be the Armed Forces bowl in Ft. Worth and I could get there easily if I was already back in the states.
The only problem with getting to the hawaii Bowl is that a few months ago my wife and I bought our way overpriced tickets to fly back to California for the holidays (Tokyo Narita - LAX) and the tickets were so restrictive it would cost $K's to change them to re-route me through HNL on the 23rd so I could go to the game on the 24th, then continue on to California on the 25th. I did consider it, and it sure would have been even more special to be at there with my fellow Airmen and SMU Fans and Alumni at the game!
Oh well, I will have to wait two years to attend a bowl since if we go bowling next year, I will be deployed which means I will have to wait untl 2011, but at that point I should be assigned back in the states which will make it easier. At least I will get to watch the game on my in-law's new Sony HD LCD, get out of attending Xmas eve service, and most importantly watch 6' 8" Margus block the snot out of kicks!
Cheers,
Jetnfast

What strings do we need to pull to get you and your F-16 for a flyover at Ford Stadium? That would be fantastic. Then, introduced at halftime.

Thanks for all you do and have a Merry Christmas!

If someone would provide a link to whomever represents SMU, that would help. Please give me a link, that is real. Just a real link to this progam, OK.

Peruna88,

I know what you mean! A few years ago when I was stationed in Misssissippi flying the T-37 trainer jet, I tried contacting the athletic office about doing a 4 ship flyover of ford stadium, but the paperwork process is a nightmare and never got started. I was really surprised to hear we had a flyover for the SMU-Navy game, thats great, and maybe they have streamlined the process since. If I get stationed back in the states again, I will have to look into doing a flyby, that would be such a cool experience!

Cheers,
Jetnfast

Bought 2 extra tickets for donation today. Quin advised that they were in the process today of mailing out the bowl tickets to those of us going to the game. Looks like we are getting great seat locations.

I've forwarded this to some non-SMU affiliated friends and family, and they have all gotten on board. So, tell your friends. This is a great way to support the military and jump on the Mustang bandwagon.

Thanks for the exact info. Don't want to send $80.00 to the internet world. Will contact them on Mon. The replica tickets are good, but don't need it. Just hope the folks in the military can have a great Christmas.
I have said this before, many times. SMU has a much larger fan base, nation wide that people in Dallas don't seem to get.I wish Dallas would get with the program.
Why were all of those games being broadcast during the 70's and 80's nationwide? They were on the air because there is a huge fan base out here.
Someone needs to figure out how to fill the stadium.
