I think it stems from the fact that he seemed to take pot shots at SMU and made them the butt of his jokes when it wasn't part of the conversation. I get it, we sucked, but why has he had to step on our throats when we were down? Do I hate the guy? No. But let's just say that I take jabs at him to "return the favor".

Some of my jabs at him have slowed the last year or so, given that he was part of bringing JJ here. I also have liked that he said some positive things in his broadcasts as of late as we've gotten better.

As I recall, when Craig decided to come to SMU (where his girlfriend was going) he called Dickerson and told him "Come to SMU and we noone will be able to beat us". And he was right!

You're right ArkPony. Craig James basically recruited Eric D. for us and sealed the deal. Remember he was a step away from signing with the Ag's.

Just compare the way Craig james is handling the Tech situation to what Leach is doing, and then talk about who needs "dissing".

I will say, anyone the Sand Aggies hate with that much disdain, must be worth loving a little bit more.

Right, but I wouldn't go out of my way to poke fun at the university that I attended, especially if I were a very prominent alum. That's the difference to me, FWIW.

At what point did CJ depart from the known facts that SMU ceased to be a good program, and entered the realm of poking fun at SMU? To say that we sucked in the post DP years, doesn't qualify IMHO. That was honesty, and that was (sad but true) Journalism.

Don't you get tired of hearing people poke fun at your school, even if it's true? So some people find it even more irritating when it comes from "one of your own".

For the record, I don't hate the guy, but I think some people just might. Just trying to throw out a possible answer to your question.

Edit: By the way, honest journalism is either agreeing with someone when they say SMU's program is not very good, or stating that fact when it's relevant. But consider pretty much NO ONE would mention SMU in most broadcasts. The fact that he would bag on the school seemingly whenever he wanted to work in a pun, even when it was not really relevant to the conversation is just bad form when you are a part of that university. Again, just my honest opinion here.
