Don't tell me you're a bigger fan than me cuz you go to the games. I've been to 6 of the 8 games this year and have not left a single one early. The comment about the death penalty was funny. If you want to bash our administration and even our coach, fine. But leave the players out of it. Do you think they don't want to win? Do you think they enjoy being called the worst D-1A team in the country? They are the ones out there fighting the fights and giving their all for SMU. True fans must stand behind them through everything.

Its funny how worked up about this you have gotten MustangStealth and Mustang1965. I believe all I said was...."To the players: Your talent exceeds expectation. No really, it does." Is it too much to ask Jonas to turn his head when the ball is thrown into OUR double coverage? We had a DB get hit in the back of the helmet while covering a wide receiever at the San Jose State game 2 weeks ago...RIDICULOUS. BACK TO BASICS. I love SMU football but our players suck, I don't care how hard we are "fighting the fight" because we suck, period. I have a strange inclination that you may be a parent of a player, just a hunch.

Funny stealth is neither, but I agree with not ripping the players, it is ok to point out that they made a mistake, which in the instance you describe, he did, but to insult them because you are upset with the state of the program, that's just low. Copeland and Bennett are professionals, and should expect to be insulted, whether it is ethical or not, but players should be immune from insults from their fans, that's just good manners, and it goes along with supporting your team.

So if a player does not perform (as ours have not this year) should we give them a good ol' pat on the butt and tell them they'll get em next time? Our coaches haven't performed, our administrartion hasn't, and the players haven't either. Blame is justified in all cases and I dont think players would deny the fact they are playing poorly and not up to their potential. We are talking about division 1 athletes, I hope they arent reading message boards and crying over what fans are saying...

Reread my post, I have no problem pointing out where they made mistakes, that is how people learn, but as fans we shouldn't be insulting them for it. It's hard to a.) get players to come here, and b.) build any school spirit when all anyone does is insult them. I'm not saying that we don't tell them they need to improve, cause if no one ever does that progress would never be made, but there is a tactful way to do it.

You're preaching to the choir. I don't think that "insulting" is neccesarily the same thing as stating the obvious. I think it hurts all of us deep down inside to see the ponies lose. Just venting, just venting.

I don't know what your definition of Fan is, but mine does not include bashing our team on ESPN.com. I'm sure you had good intentions like maybe that coverage would.....no.....let's see.....Perhaps you thought the bad press could.....no that's a stupid idea to....hmmmmm....
Just what the Hell did you think you were doing?
PS, whatever fan you may be, you're still a [deleted].

If the fans are fighting each other think about what the players are doing. I like the fire but I don't think this kind of fire is going to translate into anything but bitterness.

What a giant surprise, you a frat boy. You're not a fan of SMU, you're a fan of SMU lifestyle. No work, pretty girls, and daddy and your frat bros will get you in jobs for the rest of your life.
Congrats, you're an idiot. Now go earn something on your own other than a Venereal disease.

I love that you rely on stereotypes. I wissh I knewww howe tho spelle two. Get a life..play some chords on your tuba dipsh*t. The fact of the matter is that you really have no idea what you're talking about. If I am correct, you're speaking for the Mustang band, which is the hub of "SMU Spirit." Can't find any as of late....except for getting drunk on the boulevard...As soon as you guys spark a "chord" with the rest of the student body let me know...cuz until then, you guys will remain worthless as well, didn't want to go this direction, but you just made me. I love you Spaz, you seem to make everything okay.
