He is passing on the SMU education and football to attend TCU. He decided to take the "gray shirt" rather than play for SMU. So instead of possibly playing this fall at SMU he will go to junior college on his own dime and then enroll TCU in the Spring semester. Ouch.
I would say that speaks volumes.
regarding the bowl game congrats, what was the score when we played?
There's also that nice quote from him where he alluded to an SMU education being too difficult. Maybe he just feels more comfortable spending the next five years at two junior colleges.

Best of luck to him, but to commit this late in the process and then switch to the crosstown rival the very next day is pretty shady. Oh well. Enjoy Fort Worth [deleted].

If the kid was scared of the difficulty of SMU's education then he would have never lasted here anyway.

I am very confused on why TCU would want one of our recruits. All we ever hear from the Frogs is how bad we are and that we are hurting there strength of schedule.

i'm sure the WDNWHA committee has covered this, but do we really want someone who is going to be academically ineligible after his first year here? if he is really that afraid of our academics enough to transfer, i wholeheartedly believe that he wouldn't be eligible for long. good thing there's a school across the metroplex that is ranked #110th in the country. sounds like a match

he gave us 1 good year and no one can argue that. thank god he came in as a junior though. if he was a true freshman last year we'd just be S.O.L.
other good choices for Mr. Murphy would have been the other any of the other schools that share the prize of being the #110th school in the country including the University of New Hampshire
