Here is the scout profile:

Judging by this you would suggest it is less about UH moving away from JUCOs than Jesse's opportunities moving him away from UH.
Reading some of the other threads about him on the scout network, it seems he is a fair bit faster and stronger than Cody too.
I know Reinebold has talked to him when he was in Australia last year and also during the UH recruitment time.

Hawaii is trying to move away from JC recruits so I was wondering if there was any talk at SMU about Jesse.
My comment was in relation to the one above. Looking at his list of offers, it would seem that although Hawaii were the first to chase him years ago, it seems the competition has made it so that he (a JC Recruit) was moving in a direction other than Hawaii, rather than Hawaii moving away from a JC recruit.
BTW, Strange hours and Saturday nights do make for interesting posting.

If you look at Hawaii's recruits in the 2010 and 2009 classes, you'll see that in 2010 Hawaii *significantly* decreased the number of JC recruits they offered. That was decided last year, and apparently Hawaii has not placed a priority on keeping track of Jesse. I have several examples of this, but here is one from tonight:
Has Coach Miano left UH?
UH Still have all our contact details, but we havent heard from them since Miano went to AWC last year, dont know what they want us to do, surely they dont exspect us to wait for them to deceide if they want Jesse!
From the begining i shook Mianos hand and promised, but the loyalty has to go both ways?

A person like this would REALLY help out. Depth at DT/NG is a worry for me. Do we know the depth chart going into Spring drills?
Still believe that JJ and staff will figure something out.
We still need a couple years to get deeper talent wise.

By the way, the person who wrote the above note is Jesse's father. I know someone who talked with Jesse's father last night and neither he nor Jesse are aware of a scholarship offer from Hawaii yet...and they are quite frustrated with this whole situation.
For those who do not know the background for this recruit, he is from Australia and Hawaii recruited him while JJ was the coach at Hawaii. He committed to Hawaii while JJ was head coach and was supposed to start at Hawaii in 2008. After JJ left, the new head coach asked Jesse to delay the start of his career by a year, so he would enter Hawaii in 2009. He wanted to only delay until January 2009, but McMackin asked him to wait until August 2009. Then, shortly before he was supposed to enter Hawaii, the admissions department realized that they had made a mistake in figuring out what one or two classes in Australia was equivalent to US high school classes.
Hawaii had two years or so to go over his transcript and the admissions department didn't act until it was too late. During those 2 years Jesse would have been able to take another class if one of the Australian classes did not satisfy some requirement...but by the time Jesse was rejected it was too late for him to go anywhere except for a JC.
I posted here because I didn't want Jesse to fall through the cracks again and I knew that SMU had a need at NT. However, it looks like he has offers from Alabama, Iowa St., Miami, Oklahoma, Oregon St., SDSU, and West Virginia, so he'll end up somewhere nice.

physically this guy is off the charts. He has great speed and quickness for a guy that is 320+. Oh and he blocked 4 kicks in his first year of American football. Could provide some Hammer to Marqus Hunt's blocking ability and even expand the threat.

Garrett, any idea how much pull June Jones and the staff will have with Jesse? Pretty impressive offer list now.
