They should cut down most ALL of the inside the median ones :!:

They block a once magnificent view of Dallas Hall from Mockingbird, and hide SMU from the
non SMU people traveling down it . They most likely never see it :!:

They planted the lil buggers my first year at SMU, and I remember a dorm floor friend breaking
one. He was the smartest guy on the floor. Great visionary :!:
May the forth be with us.

They need to prune those Oaks. If they would have taken care of them that would not happen. We need some more sun on the vard so the mud is not such a problem.

Yeah we did have more mud this past year than ever before. We considered getting some heavy duty mats for gameday. If mud is there next season we may try some artificial grass mats. Maybe something like these:

Regarding pruning, it really didn't matter. The school does a reasonable job triming the trees. HPMC does an excellent job, so do my neighbors on either side of me. This snow was so wet and so heavy it really didn't seem to matter. Heavy pruning is used on many live oaks to get those long horizontal branches, with a very clean "inside" appearance--in my neighborhood these were hit the hardest. It sounded like hunting season as those branches snapped.
