Eno's is my new #1 in town for thin crispy crust similar to Louis. have only been back to Louis one time since DDD struck. Enos has the best beer selection at a pizza joint in DFW. they tap some very good and interesting micros from across the US. right now they're serving a DogfishHead beer called Fort. it's 18.5%ABV, so not for the faint of heart.

Olivela is good, Fireside is fine for a family outing close to the house. i can live without Campisis. it's not bad, just nothing that makes me run back for more (pizza here, i like other menu items and we do eat there frequently). heck, even Lovers Lane Pizza is good if you want a slice of NYC style pie.

Pizza wars is a tough one, similar to burger wars. My friends and I always had a saying about pizza. it's like sex. it's all good, sometimes you just have better sex than other times.

This is all a matter of taste, but I believe the best "authentic" pizzas in the US are made at pizzerias that are certified by the Associazone Verace Pizza Napoletana (VPN), which is an organization out of Naples, Italy (satellite office in San Francisco CA also). It requires "exclusive use of finest ingredients, including tomatoes harvested from Italy's Mt. Vesuvius region, freshest mozzarella and special flour supplied directly from Naples, Italy, only hand-pressing of dough– no mechanical methods allowed in preparation, and gentle baking in a specially-crafted, wood-fire oven constructed in a bell shape of volcanic rock". The only one I see on the VPN website in Dallas is Cavalli in Irving? Never been. But I'd imagine Campania on McKinney is certified. Campania and Taverna are good.

My favorite new york style was definitely Cafe Nostra on lower Greenville. It's a shame it burned down and never came back.

Frog land has one good thing.
Mamas Pizza first opened in 1969 on Rosedale Street, across from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas. The company added 10 stores and 14 franchises in the 1980's.

Does anyone remember Overland Express Pizza Company?
It was at the north intersection of Abrams and Skillman.
Jerome Green X Gerogia Bulldog and NY Giant was the owner.

Best Pizza in Dallas for decades. When J's m om got sick he shut it down and went back to Atlanta.

Piggie Pie's at Greenville and Lovers. Closest thing you can get to NY pizza in Dallas. Great taste, fresh ingredients, not heavy on the sauce.
