Re: DE'VON BAILEY: Glad to be back
De'Von was highly recruited out of high school with offers from the Big 12 and the SEC. Wow, if he can put it back together, what a great accomplishment for a young man; and, what an asset to SMU and our team ! Go Ponies - Go De'Von

It would have been very easy for him to take all of the set backs and negative jabs that he received from everyone and just give up his dreams to play football. Instead he took them and made himself better. I would like to say that comes from a good upbringing, but I won't take the credit for this. The credit stands totally on his shoulders. Despite being raised by myself and my mother without his father in the home, having a child at the age of 17, De'Von did not use these things as a crutch but as an opportunity for betterment. I hope with all of the things that he has done, he will be able to hit that football field again. I'm a proud mother who loves to watch him play!!! But if not, it won't change the fact that you (De'Von Bailey) are great!!!!! Keep up the good work.....
Congrats to you as a parent. He didn't turn out this way just by luck. You must have done a lot of things right in the way you raised your son. He messed up, like we all do, but he realized it, took the blame, and then corrected it. I am just as happy for you as I am for him. Regardless if he gets on the field again, you know you have raised a good man.
When will I start feeling stimulated??

Football players are like employees....say anytyhing negative about your boss and you will be out of a job or scholarship before you know it. A lot of mixed messages but you can only pull for a guy to make it work after being given a second chance, especially one with a child to support. Don't waste this great educational opportunity. Good luck! You can do it.

Thank you to all of you for your positive responses. I have tried very hard to try and steer him in the right direction and it seems he has listened. I appreciate all of your support for him for you are his family in Texas while I'm in Oklahoma.
