hope June's cell gets a good signal in Samoa. Wonder if Turner is dodging his calls. This is the kind of crap that I don't see JJ tolerating much of. Especially being told that if a player qualifies w/ NCAA, he's good to go..and having that not be the case. JJ won't put up with it, and SMU's gonna get a reputation for that. Can you imagine if one of the kids who already moved to Dallas had the same thing go down?

well 4 of the names should have been considered likely if you follow their academic issues. I know I didn't think these 4 were likely to qualify based on what I had seen months ago. Can't blame SMU if a kid doesn't qualify. Not sure what's up with Hall.

That's the one I'm talking about. Also concerned about those "to be named later"

ALEX LIFESON wrote:President Turner has the ultimate decision making power on this, I would send him an email.
I called to check on this, and was told that all admissions decisions are made by the Admissions Committee, not President Turner. I believe the Committee includes members of the SMU Admissions Office and faculty members.

why is this only getting minor lip service? this could very well be the nail in the football program's coffin. June will likely quit after this season over this. a commitment was made, and then not followed through with.

If you want Jones to stay, everyone of you send Turner an e-mail and get every alumn you know to do so also. I can understand kids that don't qualify, but the last two (the walk-on ? and Hall) are simply not fair. He needs to know that certain faculty are a jeolous bunch of power hungry people, that don't measure up to June's shoe soles. He is putting SMU and his plan to rebuild our endowment fund go right down the drain with another split in the SMU constituencies.
The grey-beards cannot do this alone. Turner doesn't see this as a problem and doesn't believe he needs to answer but to one or two people.
