Actually this morning ESPN Classic showed the 2001 Sugar Bowl which had Illinois. They discussed Illinois at the time having had a 5-year plan that worked; Ron Turner's first year, they were 0-11...they went on to become big Ten champs. The aftermath, unfortunately, has more closely resembled Ponyland...

Well, they will be better NEXT year moreso than 2 or 3 years from now. Patterson hasn't been recruiting the HS's as well as Bennett, but next year he has 5-6 jucos (3 or 4 studs) to step in and contribute.
