Next time that happens come to row 8. There are plenty of us that will explain the rules of cheering to whomever said that to you. The only time I tell someone to sit down in 104 is when PK is blocking my view of the ladies on the first row.

That wasn't me talking to the sheriffs, but he was the one pleading our case for our group. I wouldn't say we were stone cold sober, but everyone was even keel. At the end of the conversation, the cops basically agreed with us and left us alone. As I said, no one was out of line - no profanity & nothing lewd.

It's really sad to me; I feel more at "home" at away games where the 100 or so that actually travel don't think twice about standing the whole game and usually leave the stadium without their voice. To these fans, the bleachers are something to stand on, not sit in. I love that fan.

I really want to put some thought into a productive way to address this with Mustang Club and the Athletic Dept.

I like this idea... a lot. It may take a few years to cement, but the more like us that move in, the more the crabbys & blue hairs will move out.

I know it is maddening, but when those Geritol gray-hairs die off, I hope we have some butts in the seats to replace them. It sounds like you have picked up in section 106 the older retirees who got priced out of their 104 section by the increase in MC contributions required to sit there. I'm afraid that at some point I will be priced out of the 104 section and will be joining you in 106...the good news is that I stand and cheer for our Mustangs. 8)

mrydel, ponyscott, rgv - are there a bunch of empty seats in 103/104?

that's absurd...that's what happens at a football game. If you don't want to be annoyed by other fans (the people yelling to sit down or be quiet, not the cheering fans), then don't go to a game! Plain and simple. We need more people standing and cheering to energize the crowd, energize the players and make it a more lively atmosphere.

Sorry about that mrydel...I'll try to be more considerate in the future. 8)

There are apparently seats available or people who do not show.

I suppose its mostly older people; at USC games it was the same way on the alumni side at USC games. Older people complain about standing because it takes a lot to stand for nearly 4 hours, but I understand. Still makes it frustrating when you want to stand. Student Section was standing the whole game and was loud for most of it. It made the game more fun being over there.

We really enjoyed ourselves over there next to the students. I wonder if there would be an interest for some of us to add seats over there where we can feed off the students and help them keep the noise up.

It would look really good to fill another section or two on that side with noisy fans. The "alumni" side looks relatively full on a week to week basis as it is.

The easy solution is mark the upper sections as "casual" sections, and the lower sections as "active" sections. If you don't like standing, yelling, or get angry that someone drops the A-word (@$$) within 4 rows of your precious little girl teenager (who says that all day at school anyway), then move to the top section.

what got really annoying were some students came into the lower part of 104 and sat in some lower seats and started yelling at the players they knew and would stand on every play, i am all for standing on 3rd down or on big plays (and almost always do), but for how much i paid for tickets i didn't pay to have students standing in front of me

I did not notice that last night (not saying it did not occur because I know it has in the past) and was told that security would monitor the sections to keep that from happening. I kind of agree with not allowing poachers if we are going to have to pay what they require to buy the tickets. I hate to be stingy about that but there has to be some kind of control to allow those that want to watch the game watch the game, and the students need to realize the players are supposed to be involved in the game and not making plans for the evening.
