The key is for the students to wear red. The west side will never be seen on air and ESPN does a pretty good job of focusing on the student section in a relatively close up manner to make it look like a large area of red.
I think we will out number the froggies. Problem is that most of their fans will be on the east side that gets the camera coverage. That's ok. Just yell louder than them.
FWIW, I am wearing red, but will forgo the white shorts after all the fashion criticism last week. I made my wife iron all day yesterday.

With it being parents weekend, I hope that SMU got all of the SMU kids parents opportunities to buy tickets to the game before they opened them up to the general public (tcu). Does anyone know how parents got tickets earlier? I hope it wasn't left up to the student, because I bet the typical Sor. Girl didn't know.....
If they didn't send something at the beginning of the season then we lost out on 6-10k more smu fans.

Good grief Big Horse are you now sorry you posted something as
"offensive" as simply "wear Red Friday night" at the SMU game?
LOL....Jezzzz you'd think by some of the responses you
had declared war on someone! I got my red ready!

Big Horse did not simply say to wear red Friday night - he called for a "Red Out" - which at bigger schools and major professional teams means an entire stadium, or close to it, wearing the same color.
Red Out = fail. Wear Red = Yes!
Big difference.
heck most of our fans don't even wear S.M.U. shirts.
I've noticed a significant improvement in this area. More people are wearing SMU gear - caps and T-shirts - to the games. It's a sign that we're winning, but also that there is more stuff available than just at the bookstore. You're starting to see more SMU items at area retailers, and there's a big assortment of SMU gear available on the internet. It's much better than even just a few years ago.

For the record, the school said it was a red out, Big Horse just passed along the info for those not at the game.

SMU needs to PONY UP and provide the red t-shirts. Simple. Then its a peer pressure thing for people to wear them.

Would certainly prefer a "blue out" so it mixes with all the purple. That, and I already own one of the blue jerseys from a few years ago.

I'm super excited about the school requested "Red Out" and have been telling everyone! Finally, SMU responding to its football team like the rest of the big programs out there. That way, the blue won't get confused with the purple on TV and look like our entire stadium is TCU.
I'm definitely a fan of the idea and will be there in red and cheering loudly from the West side of the stadium. I might even make a sign!
Go Mustangs!

Exactly, the blue would blend with the ugly purple on t.v.

SMU should give away a ton of red towels to waive...
Only if they can get fans to underwrite the towels/t-shirts ... which would require a marketing department, which apparently was deemed a financial luxury.
