This is cool. I agree the diamond M would be great---wish they would use diamond lettering in the endzone and on some merchandise.

They had a big Auburn flag flying from one of the bridges so that the Va Tech fans could see it on their way home. We need to position SMU images in such a manner that TCU fans have to see them coming and going.
While not as impressive as the light show on the buildings, there is a very large banner hanging from the high rise just north of the Raddison on Central @ Yale (SMU Blvd) with the "Beat TCU" slogan on it.
This is great publicity, but I would have preferred something more generalized that could be used beyond just one game.

On the contrary, we need to advertise for THIS game specifically. When the average football fan thinks of SMU, they think 'irrelevant' and 'plays teams I've never heard of'. Advertising THIS game associates SMU with the #4 team in the country. It makes the average person associate SMU with real football, not UAB and Tulane.

I want to congratulate the powers that be for all of the marketing that is going on for this game. Great job! The lights on the building at Park/Central are cool.

I remember watching a Tech game televised during the Spike Dykes era and they opened with "they have come in droves from places like Idalou...Floydada...Shallowater and Crosbyton"
we keep this up and they'll be saying "they have come in droves from the Park Cities...Lakewood...Preston Hollow and Uptown"
I do love this push. It seems more savvy and better thought out than the generalized campaigns previously (Pony Up, June Cometh)

I found this pic on someone's facebook so the quality isn't my fault.

I may have to drive over tonight to see it in person!

Loving the marketing push.
Some have wondered if it's overkill for a game that's already sold out, but as couch'em said above, it's all about becoming relevant again. Hyping games against UAB and Tulane isn't going to catch the attention of the average person.
