I'll give him a break playing TCU however, he is holding on to the ball too long and making slow reads. The offense is out of sync this whole year. He looks left and never even looks right hardly ever. I need to watch the replay.
I think Darius will be the go to guy over Aldrick as the season progresses.

Re: Padron: Improved, still inconsistent
KP was trying really, really hard not to make a game-costing mistake. Also, Holman it looked like read the coverage wrong-or differently than KP-a couple of times, resulting in the ball being thrown to air.
Our drive before one of TCU's TD should have been kept alive, but a wide open Beasley was overthrown.

we aren't hit the 2nd and 3rd Level passes down the field-at all. Its QB and Receivers. I just don't think the receivers are working hard enough after their first move.

Opposing d-coordinators now have 10 games of film on the kid. He has not yet adjusted to being game planned. He has no productive over-the-middle receiver. His 5-9 WRs are invisible running through BCS-level secondaries. He is basically relegated to out routes, which are INT risks; passes to the flat; and deep balls.
Let's just see how we feel once he's had a chance to go against C-USA. I expect good things and some real progress by late this season.
well said. did we go over the middle once all night? really miss shawbrey as that safety valve too.
Padron tried to go to Johnson over the middle once but he dropped it, really wish we would see more routes ran over the middle with teams playing off trying to guard against giving up deep completions. Can any of our backs catch the ball well enough to be viable in the passing game?

Same thing I saw tonight...
Re: Padron: Improved, still inconsistent
Because I like numbers:
- Currently on pace for 2500 yds, 30 td, 12 int.
- 8 td / 1 int in his last 3 games.
- 7-3 record as a starter (irrelevant here but I like seeing it in print).
Obviously would like that 51.4% cmp to be a lot higher ... seems like it can go nowhere but up especially as we are coming off playing last year's #6 pass defense and headed off to play #114 at Rice next week.

Re: Padron: Improved, still inconsistent
IMO Padron has not improved. Look at the bowl game film and then look at his performance last night. He is holding the ball way too long. I timed a couple of this plays. He was taking 4-6 seconds before releasing the ball- waaaayy ttooooooo long. Also, over throwing receivers, making bad selections etc. Some of it could be the receivers however, the coaches need to do something or we will not be at the top of CUSA. Any opposing team can see what the defense did to us last night and game plan the same way.

Re: Padron: Improved, still inconsistent
hard to judge from this game; let's see how the rest of the season plays out. JJ is bringing in guys who are going to push Padron for playing time, but right now it's about both QB and receivers gaining much needed experience, learning from their mistakes and getting on the same page.
Re: Padron: Improved, still inconsistent
Noticed a couple of things last night. 1) KP is a really tough kid - he got the snot beat out of him and kept getting up. 2) He is still staring down his receivers. 3) He is still a sophomore - not our savior. 4) If JJ thought McDermott was the solution he would pull the trigger. This tells me that the troubles are not just at QB - the receivers are not getting it done. 5) Part of the problems on the over throws were that he couldn't step up - the ball tends to sail when that happens. 6) We have depth issues on both sides of the ball and that will only be cured through time.

Right on Red! Padron is quickly becoming a thorn in my shank. I fear that his glimpses will keep us sailing on a sinking ship a little bit too long. Looks the same to me week to week, nervous, slow to get up and slow to release. Just wish he'd put the ball where our guys can catch the thing.........especially when we are looking a 6. Watch the tape........lets see what happens.... Lets get this worked out now.

TCU's DB's dominated out WR's at the line. The few times I zeroed in on AR, he was jacked a the line of scrimmage and he never had a chance.
