If we finish 6-6, then lose the conference championship game and end up 6-7, are we still eligible?

I believe if you play 13 games you have to win 7 to be bowl eligible, so if we won C-USA West at 6-6 and finshed 6-7 by losing the C-USA title game then we wouldn't be bowl-eligible. In that event hopefully the NCAA has fewer than 70 bowl eligible teams and will modify the eligibility requirements to fill the remaining games.

Glass half full and rising.

7 - 4 going to ECU.

Likely to play in Ford for the bowl game, if not in Memphis.

Without a conference title, staying on campus is the probable.

I swear some of you guys must have never participated in sports at any level. The favorites don't always win. If so the cowboys would be making plans for the Super Bowl instead of trying to figure out how to double their present win total. These are just a few of the things I can think of that might affect the outcome of a game: injuries, turnovers, poor preparation, weather, location, arrests, team chemistry, type of defense or offense, academics, personal problems, rumors, homefield advantage if any, agents.... I think we go to Hawaii with 7 wins and Hawaii is the opponent. Big crowd and makes for good tv. Hawaii will be wanting to show they really don't miss JJ that much and JJ will really have the guys fired up for this one. Plus he wants to go into next year on a positive note with all the returnees and getting some guys back from academic problems and recruiting.

Houston I would think would be projected to have the same problem finishing 6-6. Projected losses to UCF, Southern Miss(or Tulsa) and Texas Tech. Of course, in a 2 way tie UH goes to Championship because of victory over SMU. In my scenario they would also go in 3 way tie with Tulsa because of victories over SMU and Tulsa. Guess we need Tulsa to beat UH for 3 way tie. Not sure who goes then.

Anyway if we finish strong this is far from over-the East looks pretty strong to me. UH might recover if they get error free QB play like Saturday

Yes.

It's easy to see UH lose two more games in conference.

agree - finish strong, go to Greenville with a shot and see what happens.

First - beat Tulane.

ANY bowl game, IMO, is a continued step in the right direction.

But there are several potential obstacles beyond whether SMU, currently 4-4 with four games remaining, becomes bowl eligible. For one, SMU's Gerald J. Ford Stadium is hosting the 2010 Armed Forces Bowl since the usual home, Texas Christian's Carter Stadium, is scheduled to undergo a $105 million renovation at the close of the regular season next month. And the bowl's owner, ESPN Regional TV, and its partner, C-USA, would have a sellout there with the Mustangs at home, something another team might not deliver.

While I don't know if we could deliver a sellout on our own, I think this part of the story is pretty spot-on. I think we stay local for bowling this year.

thanks for those.

Again, count from the time Moniz gets the snap. 2 seconds on most of them, 3 on the deep balls from the time the ball is in his hand until the time he lets it go
