the one consensus that will arise from Pony Excess is that damn we had the best uniforms in the Country and just pissed it away. I'll be wearing Blue.

The blue uniforms were great, I wish they would modernize them a bit and bring them back permanently. I am not the biggest fan of the red.

People seem very concerned about what color uniform the team wears, or which horse steps on the field first. But I'll tell you what.
If SMU pulls off a road upset, and wins a conference championship on Saturday, those black uniforms will look pretty good. And we might have a new tradition. People might even want to see them in the next big game.

Did I miss an announcement? Are we wearing black for the championship game?

I'm much less against the black uniforms than I am June's stupid mascot ideas. They were coming sooner or later, it is June Jones after all, and SMU has been intent on re-branding it's football teams image every 36 hours or so. Remember when the staff let players decide on uniforms and they voted to make us look like the New York Jets in blood red? Yeeesh

It looks sharp/crisp and has sorta become our trademark. Not too hyped, not too plain - makes Peruna on the helmet really pop. I think we oughta go that direction full time. Black does not represent anything SMU.

Since we are playing in UCF's stadium and they are the host team and we are the visitors, I believe we will be wearing white. Where is this idea of black unis coming from?

I think they are talking about the Bowl game, which if it turns out to be against the Black Knights of Army will be strange to say the least.

Anytime, here to help. Dont know where this black thing is coming from, June? As said many times black has no place in SMU's colors. Never been a fan of the black gimmick uni's with other schools.
If anything bring back some of the old school pony uni's..Red helmet/White Horse - Classic!!!

It has a place in June's heart and head. And, since about January 08 2008, if June wants it, June will get it. So, we will get black uniforms. Black jerseys to go along with our new horses. Can't you just feel the tradition?

What tradition? Just a short-lived hype which will be gone when the geldings are gone and JJ's contract expires.
