If you have ties to SMU, you have to come away from that film appreciating Eric Dickerson more than ever...but also understand he upset a lot of Whorn$ and Aggie$.

While a lot of us didn't hear anything we didn't already know, hopefully this film will help put SMU back on the national radar. Hopefully there was a "difference maker" or 2 watching tonight that knew very little about SMU, but just might be curious enough right now (especially with TCU's success) to check us out.

Bottom line is that it is more publicity at a good time. Beat Army and keep the recruiting momentum going!

Ironic how Dickerson said the Teas recruiter told him if he left Texas he would never get a job in Texas, and that is exactly what it has been said that Moreland is being told by California schools about returning to California.

I thought it was Newton also and then realized it had to be Bush unless Thad was doing editing this evening during the show.

Great job, Thad. Obviously, an incredible amount of work went into preparing this.

Great piece of work, Thad! That was cathartic, I hope for a lot of people. And you can't help but love the ending!

I'm just glad to know that since then, that paying players has been stopped.

Thad's abilities are remarkable.

Anyone notice that although no narration went with the play. He showed the fake punt Grant Teaff ran even thought the game was out of hand. Then he has the quote from Grant Teaff at the end saying how wronged the "innocent" were.

Now that is irony and juxtaposition. Going to have to watch this several times to find nuggets like that.

That single play painted the clearest picture of Teaff and how he should be remembered. Dude is a complete fraud. I wish the cops had let Coach Gregg get to him at midfield. Coach Gregg looked like he wanted to beat the fool out of that man (which would be hard to do). I thought he was more mad after that than he was after the Notre Dame and Houston games.
I have despised Baylor ever since.

nicely done, Thad...

and oh so difficult to watch. you caught the essence of the surroundings, and the fact that SMU was the preeminent program in violating the rules of that time. It was good to see many familiar faces, and some that have fared well through the years. It was also interesting to hear that several former players from that time were not just shunned, but discouraged from even attending games...there has been speculation on this board as to where Dickerson and James have been,,,now we know in part the reason why.

It was fair and accurate.

It is already creating buzz...my phone went off afterwards, and several Aggie friends from that era called and commented that they were glad there wasn't an investigation at______.
I suspect tomorrow the comments I get after church will not be about 'how long the sermon was.'

I wish you well, Thad. You and your documentary are an asset to SMU, and show a portion of the great gifts that our school helped nurture and develop in your life.
