Nominate Ron Meyer as Uniform Czar and Head Coach Clothing Designer. Uniforms do matter. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have guys wearing 4 different colored T-Shirts under their uniform under Meyer.

Favorite line was the juxtaposition of a Frog and the comment that some cheated to get only 3 wins
Re: Your favorite line(s) from Pony Excess
the thing about meyer is that he really didn't need to pay to recruit. he could have built a program on people skills alone.

yes uniforms do matter, and if SMU wanted to maximize the feel-good momentum (ironic I know) from Pony Excess, they most certainly would roll out some semblance of those blue jerseys on the 30th

When E.D. said the U.T. coach told him if he went to a school outside the
state of Texas that he would never work in Texas, did he really mean to say
if you don't go to U.T. or if you choose another school in the state
then you won't work in Texas?

"How are they getting all those guys?"

I loved ED's comments. Particularly about hating UT!
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Emmanuel Sanders...I came to SMU to rebuild this program.
ED I haven't watched a full footgame in maybe 20 years, but I watched not only the game but also all of the post game interviews.

Re: Your favorite line(s) from Pony Excess
I love this thread... my favorite lines:
"There were teams in this state paying hundreds of thousands of dollars under the table and winning three games! That's the definition of a LOSER!"
-- and --
"We're not where we want to be. We're not where we can be. In some places, we're not where we should be. But thank God, we're not where we used to be."
Plus [deleted] talking about Saturdays at SMU. My Ambassador of Kwan (Executive Producer extraordinaire) Mike Hughes and I had a meal/drink with Eric months before he appeared in the doc trying to convince him to be in it... as Mike and I walked away I said, "hot damn, nobody in the SMU community [that doesn't already know him personally] is gonna' believe how much that guy loves SMU!!!! ... That is going to be one of my favorite parts of putting this out there!" (And at that point E.D. still hadn't agreed to be involved. I was still trying to convince him. But after that dinner/drink we felt we had him on our side and believing we were good guys; we walked away almost 100% sure that he would do it. Thank god he did.)
"Saturdays at SMU."

Re: Your favorite line(s) from Pony Excess
Hanson actually had my favorite quote about Clements not being in trouble because of cheating so much as all the other schools alums being upset that he helped SMU win a football game. Funny and true.
That, and
"I can't believe there's someone in the program that can be that stupid."

Re: Your favorite line(s) from Pony Excess
A notable but funny one:
I think it was Kershaw talking about Forrest Gregg addressing the team at the half of the Notre Dame game:
"Forrest asked us, "Who in this locker room doesn't think we can beat these guys? And one guy stands up and says, '"Coach, I don't think we can beat these guys.'''
A riot.
