Surprised at how well the Rose did compared to the Sugar. Its also wild to see how much the ratings drop from a move to ESPN...doesn't seem like it would make that much of a difference.

Another intersting tidbit was the Hawaii Bowl had a higher rating this year than last year.

Last year the Armed Forces Bowl was on Dec. 31. Moving it back a day did not help it ratings wise.

The Rose Bowl was moved to ESPN this year after being on ABC forever.

the BCS Bowl ratings are somewhat deceptive because this year they switched from Network TV to ESPN cable TV which has 15% less TV viewership.

Lies, damn lies, and then statistics.

Not to mention all KINDS of ancillary factors for why the ratings were what they were for every bowl game this year. And it will change drastically again year because different teams play, the times are different, the days are different, etc., etc., etc...

AFB played on Thursday 11cst both years.

I blame it on Beth Mowins. Nobody outside of an SMU/USMA grad could stomach watching and listening to her for more than five minutes.

I thought the same. But Hawaii and Tulsa both sniffed or finished in the top 25.

At least it was a fun game to attend and there were 5 games with lower attendance than the AFB.

The fact that the score was 16-0 at the half may have had something to do with it.
