How Stanford Keeps guys eligible and we Can't...
I took "Art of Relaxation". I had no athletes but I'm sure a different class time was loaded up

[quote="Stallion"]As we established in the attached thread we know that in the 1997 in a comprehensive report showed Stanford had the highest SATs in the country with an average of 1051-but the test is about 100 points easier today. A comprehensive study in 2004 by the Atlanta Constitution Journal of state schools did not include Stanford because it is private. Otherwise, those are about the only studies that you will ever see published on the subject

My son started SMU in 1995 and his SAT was recentered. I believe the recentering happened in 1994.

apparently April 1, 1995 was the switch over date to the recentered SAT. So tests taken April 1, 1995 or after are recentered(higher). So it still applies to the early Ken Pye Days. I assume the SAT scores in that 1997 study were based upon the recentered score but not sure since many of the players in 1997 took the SAT before April 1, 1995. Not sure if that was just a study of freshman entering in 1997 or all classes.

there are plenty of easy classes at SMU.
Music the Art of Listening and Cinema, just to name a couple, were both popular, fun and easy.

Let's not try to take any moral high ground here. Back in the 90's we didn't have an official list, but we knew what the athlete friendly classes were. It's just that a lot of us didn't take those classes. I waited until my senior year to take the blow off classes and was pissed that I waited so long. We played duck duck goose in my creative dramatics class. Oh how I miss Charlie.
