I love how we can now think of poaching coaches from other teams and make it a reality as opposed to past years where it was merely a pipe dream!!!! ... and yes I read that Gansz already left the UCLA program so technically we would not be poaching him, I am referring to the possibility of poaching coaches.

UCLA fans thoughts' on the rumors of Gansz Jr. to SMU. It looks like in this small sample size, they'd be just as pleased to have him leave.

Welcome to the board. And don't worry about the broken shift key. There are people on here with much more serious ailments

apparently got a new gig this year at a Canadian school. Are you saying Marcello is the new Special Teams Coach or a candidate? Doing some background he looks like an ideal candidate-not much Texas recruiting experience but with Texas background NFL/CFL experience and SMU alumnus you'd think he could pick that up since he has coaching experience dealing with kids

We've decided to start increasing our recruiting presence in Canada since Texas is such a dead end.

marcello was with the college in canada- arcadia or something like that. he is currently looking for a job. he was in town a few months ago at the college coaches convention and talked to jj a few times is what he said. seems he may have known about the opening before it was ever public. i believe his special team the last year he coached in cfl where ranked the best. anyway- i think he would be a good fit and really like having former players on the staff.

i liked marcello simmons. didn't he end up with the bengals for a while?
it would be good to bring in a guy with school ties. i'd be on board with bringing him in.

Yup — drafted by the Bengals.
Ended up with Jacksonville.
I'm betting we get Coach Gansz, Jr.
