Thanks ponyte for posting the link to the list. Now I feel dumb! Oh well. I agree on Russell Carter, and Wes Hopkins. Armstrong too. Ira Terrell. What about Ricardo Prado for swimming too? Go Ponies!

I would add Johnny Champion to that list. Maybe small in stature but huge when on the field.
GO PONIES!!!

Jerry Clem. Offensivve lineman with many post season honors.
Re: SMU Hall of Fame: who should be next?
Not sure how you can leave out Ted McLaughlin. He won 3 national titles (not Wollman as previously posted) as the head Track and Field coach and coached Michael Carter among numerous other All Americans.
I honestly don't know how you can have a Hall of Fame with any coaches in it if you don't first admit the man who has won the only national championships this school has seen since the majority of us were alive. I bet Orsini dosn't have the balls to do it however, since his predecessor dropped Men's Track and the school hasn't picked it back up yet.

I am sorry I missed being there Friday evening. I heard from others how wonderful it was. I am admittedly a bit biased, but I certainly agree that Diego Walsh deserves a spot. Diego had a very successful career in Australia and New Zealand after playing a few years in MLS. He was the leading goal scorer in the Asian Champions League Tournament in 2008 and in fact scored the goal that sent Adelaide United into the quarter-finals in that tournament. They were the first ever Australian team to do so.

He is in already.
Technically he was not All SWC QB. The year he played QB there was another deserving QB but Gary still made the first team as an athlete.

Diego Walsh is one of the best handful of players in SMU history. Great scorer, and one of the best passers in the school has ever produced.
Got a chance to visit with him for a minute at the banquet. He sounded like he would like another chance at MLS, and I can't imagine there isn't a team out there that can use a guy with his talent.

Kelcher has earned a spot in this group. On wonders about Fred Benners. Also, Jim Hacksaw Dugan
